Ihave an old steering wheel that has no clutch pedal (Momo force). I would still like to have a clutch, but assigned to a steering wheel`s button. When I press on the button that is mapped to the handbrake, it doesn't lock up the tires anymore. It will SLOW down the car, but it does NOT fully lock However when i get into the game itself (Assetto Corsa), it will NOT see the shifter when i shift into gear during setup. Just did it again, and here are the exact steps in trying to get it to setup the shifter in Assetto Corsa: Click the 'Use H Shifter' box (in Assetto Corsa) Click the 'Click to assign' field for gear 1 Maybereset all the bindings to be sure, I have the same wheel/shifter and it says “Gear 1” no mention of any buttons”. Check If you have “combine keyboard” selected, switch it off so the only inputs in game come from the wheel/shifter. If that fails there’s always good ol’ fashioned uninstall/reinstall! Thisworks in real cars, but as I said you run the risk of damaging the gearbox. You'll probably find that you are experiencing this "auto-clutch" effect because you already rev match when using the clutch, and if you do a lot of driving/racing with a manual gearbox then you probably already rev match well enough to shift without the clutch.
