Jul 15, 2010. #3. It has been confirmed. Sorry I don't have any links but I am 98% positive it does have the gorilla glass. Still in my opinion it is a good idea to get a screen protector. The iphone also has gorilla glass, and I know plenty of iphones out there that still could be scratched. S.

At the same time, "Victus 2 continued to survive drops up to two meters on a surface replicating asphalt and maintained scratch resistance up to four times better than competitive aluminosilicate
As for the Gorilla Glass 5, though it can easily shatter when significant brute force is applied in form of a hammer beatdown, the glass is extremely scratch-resistant.
To engineer a scratch-resistant glass, you need to know the best way to test a scratch-resistant glass. Corning scientists determined the Knoop Diamond Test is an accurate way to measure scratch resistance. In this test, a Knoop diamond is slowly forced along the glass surface to intentionally create scratches. In lab tests, Gorilla Glass DX+ was more scratch resistant than glass with a standard AR coating, and it beat out standard Gorilla Glass as well. It withstood scratch tests with up to 4kg of force The answer is yes. You need a screen protector for GG3 because the more scratch resistant the glass is the more shattered it will be when you drop it. Broken GG3 = shards and dust. The screen protector will hold it together and give you some functionality of the screen while you cry and cry to Asurion. B. Corning's new Gorilla Glass Victus is 2x more scratch resistant than Gorilla Glass 6 Samsung will be the first to adopt Gorilla Glass Victus By Shawn Knight July 23, 2020, 11:03 8 comments.
\n \n is gorilla glass 3 scratch resistant
FYI the glass used on the pixel 6a is way more resistant to scratches than a Gorilla Glass Victus(which is stronger to impacts and sacrifices hardness) found on the 1000€ phones. And there's no way the glass scratches before the plastic back lol, it's literally impossible, unless u don't know the whole story and ur wife dragged that phone
As consumers expect more from their touchscreens, Gorilla Glass offers automakers the perfect solution: a damage- and scratch-resistant display cover that’s thin, lightweight, and optically advantaged. Gorilla Glass can also be formed into precise three-dimensional shapes, adding aesthetic flair for curved surfaces.
They may scratch easier because (uhm duh) physical properties of matter. What the Verge said: > Since glass can’t truly be both extremely drop resistant and scratch resistant, Corning and other glass makers are forced to choose which of those two qualities to prioritize. For Corning, drop resistance takes precedence.

AGC Dragontrail™ Chemically Strengthened Glass. Asahi Glass Corporation (AGC) Dragontrail™ is innovative High Ion-Exchange (HIE™) aluminosilicate glass with superior strength, scratch resistance and a beautiful surface finish that is made by applying a proprietary chemical strengthening and tempering process to the highly even and flat float material.

By Tayyaba Rehman — Published on October 21, 2023. Gorilla Glass is a durable, scratch-resistant glass used in electronics, while AMOLED is a display technology offering vibrant colors and deep blacks.

Gorilla Glass 2 was 20% thinner than the first generation, without sacrificing strength. By using advanced atomic-scale modeling they were able to make Gorilla Glass 3, which was first shown in 2013. This glass is 40% more scratch-resistant than version 2. It also managed to be even more flexible.

Also I find it interesting that all of a sudden Victus is the worst thing in the world when some earlier versions like Gorilla Glass 5 is actually even worse for scratch resistance. For the record your Pixels 2, 3, 4 all use GG5, so if Victus is really THAT bad, then all those phones should've been dog shit for scratch resistance.
The company changed its name to AGC and continued manufacturing scratch-resistant glass. The glass used by AGC is sold under the Dragontrail brand name. Asahi is also a supplier of this tough material. The company produces Gorilla-Glass and other high-quality, scratch-resistant materials for electronics. AGC is a Japanese firm.

gorilla glass 5 is strong but also not really scratch resistant, sadly. you know it's always the same in here some people like myself will tell you the truth, that you will have micrososcratches 100% without a protector and with bad luck some minor or deeper ones, which can happen for example if you pull your phone out of the pants.

Erica Griffin uses glass screen protectors from Spigen, which are almost exactly as thick and scratch-resistant as Gorilla Glass. Watch as she runs through a dozen or more protectors, scratching

Just like Gorilla Glass and Dragontrail Glass, NEG glass is also very hard and flexible which prevents scratches and damage due to minor drops and rough handling. The special name or the brand name of NEG’s Scratch Resistant Glass for Smartphone, Tablets and other Mobile devices is Dinorex. NEG chose the name Dinorex, a portmanteau meaning
Gorilla Glass 3 vs Gorilla Glass 5. The difference between Gorilla Glass 3 and Gorilla Glass 5 is that Gorilla Glass 3 is more scratch-resistant than its other generations, also with the competitor’s Al-Si glasses, while Gorilla Glass 5 is more resistant to shattering. The strength of Gorilla Glass 3 is achieved through chemical procedures as
