found an easy fix. took 30 seconds. the ring on the van which the lock catchs hit a couple times upwards with a hammer. over time i think this moves and doesn't quite move the button enough. hence it beeping on and off. so glad mines fixed.

The trim needs to come out, so the door can slide off the end of the top runner. On the lower runner, you need to remove a bolt (torx) that holds the end stop for the door.
